How to close your SizaBill account and what happens to your data
If you can still sign in
The quickest route is from inside your account. Go to Account, then Close my account. Your subscription is cancelled at the same time, so you are not billed again.
Sign in to close your accountIf you cannot sign in
Email us from the address on the account and we will handle it for you. We will confirm your identity first, because an account holds financial records and we are not prepared to delete somebody’s books on an unverified request.
Email privacy@sizabill.co.zaWe aim to respond within five working days.
What is deleted
- Your login, name, email address and password
- Your business profile, logo and settings
- Your client list and their contact details
- Your expenses and the receipt images you uploaded
- Any accountant access you had granted
What we have to keep, and why
South African tax law requires a business to keep its invoices and financial records for five years. That obligation is yours, and it does not end when you stop using SizaBill, so we cannot destroy those records on request the way we can with everything else.
We keep the minimum needed to satisfy it: issued invoices, credit notes and payment records. They are removed from your account, no longer visible to anyone, and never used for anything else. Consent records and audit logs are also retained, because they are the evidence that we handled your data lawfully in the first place.
Export everything before you close the account. Your invoices, expenses and receipt images can all be downloaded from Reports while you still have access.
Changed your mind?
A closed account can be reopened within 30 days. Email hello@sizabill.co.za and we will restore it with your records intact. After 30 days the account itself is gone and only the legally required records remain.
Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
